European Law Firm (ELF) was established in 1989 to meet increasing demand for cross-border legal advice and was the first legal network to register in Brussels as an European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG).
ELF members are established, ambitious firms selected for their breadth of expertise and a proven track record in cross-border transactions. All members have English speaking lawyers and many are multilingual.
Through its members, European Law Firm offers
Over the years, European Law Firm members have worked regularly with each other to build long standing relationships - the principal strength of the network.
Who we work with
The European Law Firm network advises multinationals, financial institutions, plcs, private companies and individuals, government agencies, partnerships and charities. Clients of member firms enjoy all the advantages of a global firm with the added value of a more personal service.
How we are structured
European Law Firm is a not-for-profit organisation managed by an Executive Board and a President, elected by the members. The Board is assisted by a Central Office who oversees the day to day running of the network.
General Meetings are held three times a year to enable representatives of member firms to exchange ideas and develop friendships and understanding.
IT&IP, Debt Recovery & Insolvency Practice Groups have also been established to exchange information and improve member knowledge in these specialist practice areas.
In addition, a lawyer exchange programme has been set up to promote greater insight into different legal systems and develop language skills for the greater benefit of clients.
Contact Us
Please contact any of the member firms directly or Sarah-Louise Green at the network's central office for advice or more information.
The network includes 28 commercially orientated law firms across Europe and beyond.
